St. Patrick’s Day in New York City

Friday, 17 February 2012 10:53 by nycsc

St. Patrick’s Day is a wonderful time to celebrate the Irish-American heritage. It’s a day full of excitement, fun, and amazing sights and sounds. When you spend St. Patrick’s Day in New York City, you’re sure to have the experience of a lifetime. At NYCTrip.com, we’ve put together a special St. Patrick’s Day New York City Vacation Package to help you enjoy the holiday in a way that only can be experienced in the Big Apple.

Your St. Patrick’s Day vacation weekend begins when you check in to your New York City hotel room, which we’ve booked for you for two nights or longer. Your hotel is located in midtown Manhattan, which is right in the center of the action on St. Patrick’s Day. Within walking distance, you’ll find plenty of places to watch the parade route, plus, world-class restaurants, shopping, Broadway theaters, and more! Take a stroll and you could visit Times Square, Rockefeller Center, or even at St. Patrick’s Cathedral!

Then, on March 17th, settle in for a full day of parade fun! The parade begins with a grand march up Fifth Avenue, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The route itself starts at 44th Street and Fifth Avenue and goes past St. Patrick’s Cathedral at 50th Street, continuing north up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Irish Historical Society, ending at 86th Street and Fifth Avenue around 4-5:30 p.m. As you watch the parade, take in the spectacle of bagpipers, bands, and more than 150,000 parade participants! What could be more exciting on St. Patrick’s Day?

As for the best spots, here are our top picks for places to watch the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

  • North of 66th Street and Fifth Avenue, as this is away from the crowds and shopping districts.
  • The upper steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street).
  • 85th and 86th Streets, where spectators can catch the end of the marchers close up.

In between parade festivities, you can take advantage of all of the New York City vacation bonuses included in with your package, which range from special shopping discounts to tickets to your choice of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The American Museum of Natural History, or Top of the Rock Observation Deck.  For a full list of our St. Patrick’s Day Vacation Package inclusions, check out this page: What’s Included in Each NYC Vacation Package.

Looking forward to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with you this year!

Romantic New York City Vacation Packages at NYCTrip.com

Friday, 3 February 2012 07:14 by nycsc

At NYCTrip.com, we’ve fallen in love with the Big Apple and we know that there are plenty of charms this city has to offer to any couple. So, if you’re looking for a way to enjoy a romantic weekend trip, we’ve got the perfect fit for you. Try enjoying the best of New York City and of course, a little romance, with our romantic New York City vacation packages.

What’s included? Well, for starters, you can begin your romantic getaway with accommodations for two nights or longer in a Midtown Manhattan hotel. Just steps away from your door will be fine dining options, shopping, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, museums, and Broadway theaters. Speaking of Broadway theaters, our romantic New York City vacation packages include tickets to a hit Broadway show of your choice. After the show, enjoy a dinner cruise for two aboard the World Yacht, where you’ll receive an amazing four course meal served alongside views of the New York City skyline. You’ll also get a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through Central Park at the time and day of your choice. What could be more romantic? (HINT: This is the PERFECT vacation for Valentine’s Day or proposals!)

If you’re interested, give us a call at 877-NYC-TRIP and we’d be happy to give you more information. We can design a custom itinerary to suit your needs or you can choose from any of our New York City vacation packages. Remember – there’s always something to fall in love with in the Big Apple!

P.S. While you’re enjoying your NYC stay, consider some of these ideas for adding a little extra romance to your experience:

  • During the day, seek out a NYC spa and book a couple’s massage in Midtown. A few options include Bliss, and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, and Dorit Baxter. Ask your hotel concierge for nearby spas or in-hotel spa services (if applicable).
  • Order in room service and enjoy breakfast in bed during your hotel stay.
  • Have some time in between points on your itinerary? Walk hand in hand in Central Park or head back to the hotel to watch a New York City romance classic, like When Harry Met Sally.
  • Enjoy dessert – in the middle of the afternoon – by stopping in to one of NYC’s many bakeries.
  • Flower vendors are always just a few steps away, so why not treat your sweet to some lovely blooms?
  • Surprise your significant other with chocolates from one of NYC’s chocolate shops, like Godiva, La Masion du Chocolat, Teuscher Chocolates, F C Chocolate Bar, or Vosges Chocolate.
  • When you stroll down Fifth Avenue to window shop, make an extra special stop at Tiffany’s. Trust us – there’s nothing better than a little blue box.
