Halloween in New York City

Halloween will soon be here and NYC has several events starting at the end of September that run through October that you can take part in on your NYC trip!

Here are some spooky events and haunted houses you can check out as you celebrate Halloween in the Big Apple:

Nightmare Fairy Tales: Located at 107 Suffolk St., this haunted house is a local favorite and this year's theme is fairy tales. Last year's haunted house got a lot of press, so this year is sure to be just as great. Gotham Magazine said that it is a “spectacularly scary haunted house and Halloween extravaganza”. A group of 8-12 people walk through the attraction. As for what happens on the tour, we’ll let you experience it for yourself!

The haunted house opens September 30th and runs every Thursday through Sunday in the month of October, with the last open day on November 5th. Hours vary throughout the month. Be sure to check their site for details, ticketing, and more information. (No children under 10 will be admitted). Regular admission is $30 in advance or $35 at the door. There is a VIP ticket that allows you to jump the line and includes a goodie bag for $60.00 – and a Super VIP ticket that also allows you to jump the line and includes a free drink, t-shirt and a backstage tour for $100.00.

Nightmare Z- Day: Located at 1157 Commerce Avenue in the Bronx, this classic walk-through haunted house allows a group of 6-8 people at a time go through the house together. The featured attraction? Mutating zombies.

The haunted house opens October 7th and runs through October 31st. General admission is $15.00 (October 7th-16th). Student admission is $10.00 (October 7th-16th). VIP admission is $30.00 (October 7th-16th). After October 21st, tickets are $20.00 per person for general admission and VIP tickets will be $40.00. (No student discount available starting October 21st)

New York Village Halloween Parade: The 39th annual New York Halloween parade takes place in Greenwich Village. This is the nation's largest public Halloween parade celebration and over 2 million people attend the parade each year. One of the best parts is that those in costume can join in on the parade! If you plan to join, you should arrive between 6:30-8:30 p.m. and follow the parade crowd up Sixth Ave. Or you can watch it in person on 6th Avenue from Spring St. to 21st Street from 7:00-10:00 p.m.

Blood Manor: This destination is known as New York City's premier haunted attraction. Their website alone is scary! Blood Manor opens October 7th and continues through the month of October every Thursday through Sunday. Hours vary throughout the month. Check their site for specific times and more information. The general admission E-ticket is$25.00 plus a $3.50 handling fee. At the door, general admission is $35.00. An RIP Express Entry Ticket is $40.00 plus a $3.50 handling fee (RIP includes no waiting in line for dates October 7th-16th). RIP Express Entry after October 16th is $45.00 plus a $3.50 handling fee and can be purchased via phone or the at-door price will be $50.00.

Halloween Costume Party Cruise: (Departs Pier 15, South Street Seaport) The Zephyr cruise ship transforms into a haunted house on the water. The Halloween costume party includes free appetizers, one free drink, a costume contest, two multiple level cash bars, a live DJ, Coors Light specials, and Halloween specialty drinks - all on a 2.5 hour party cruise! The ship boards at 9:00 p.m. and leaves the pier at 9:30 p.m., returning at 12:30 a.m. Tickets are $55.00 at the door or $50.00 for advance reservations.
